As I was celebrating July 4th yesterday with family and friends enjoying good food and fellowship, I was reminded that the very foundation of this Nation was that word. Freedom. It is very important to be reminded that freedom came at a high cost. The lives and sacrifices of many people in the past, and even today, it is a high cost to many of my family and friends that are serving in the armed forces. Sacrificing time away from their children and family, sacrificing their lives in dangerous places, protecting and serving this nation. I thank you for that! I am also reminded of the time that it crossed my mind to join the military when I was a teen, but I remember thinking about war and all the sacrifices one had to make and the thought of it went away as soon as it came in. I didn’t have the guts back then and I thank God for the brave men and women that did and still do.

This great nation was founded with God in the minds of the architects of the declaration of Independence and the Constitution. With christian values and freedom for all. Let us not forget that. Let us not forget that it was a freedom to serve others and do good and not freedom for wickedness of debauchery. Let us be aware that our time on this earth is short. Let each one of us be a blessing to people around us, and do not grow weary of doing good to others, like the book of Galatians 6:9 says. And most importantly let us remember that true freedom was revealed to us not 242 years ago from the British crown but in a obscure mountain in the middle east 2000 years ago in the person of Christ.

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. Gospel of John 8:36

God bless you all
